Doug, 

I tried this; it had no effect whatsoever :-(  I am at a loss, 
since reboot on 2.2.6 worked fine on this hardware.  I want to 
try 2.2.7 on an IDE based system to see what happens there, but 
it may take me a few days to get to that.  The release notes did talk 
about changes in the SCSI support, I think.
