Whether you're right for saying what you said after this is largely a matter of opinion, and one in which I will not involve myself. However, there are two very real problems with using ksh as the default shell and using print: - Print is not the same thing as /usr/bin/printf. (However, as of AT&T KSH93, printf is a shell builtin.
