The source has proven to be adequate documenation for others to solve
similar problems. For those who can't debug source, the best thing to
do given a repeatable failure with hardware that's known to work is to
file PR. Be sure include the exact text of the error message, the
relevant lines from your dmesg, and the output of "usbdevs -v" for the
usb device in question.
