It could be something as simple as > a 0 length or corrupt libjava.so.1.1. The prorgram would die with a run-time error then. The reason for the error was due to not running the java wrapper file. Again, it's just not working. The libjava stuff is totally irrelevant, it just happens to be the first shlib loaded by the VM at startup time.
