Hello.

I'm running INND 1.7.2 on FreeBSD 2.2-980705-SNAP+CAM with the following
hardware:

da5: <SEAGATE ST39173W 5764> Fixed Direct Access SCSI2 device
da5: 20.0MB/s transfers (10.0MHz, offset 8, 16bit), Tagged Queueing
Enabled
da5: 8683MB (17783240 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 8683C)

7 of these drives ^^^

CPU: Pentium II (quarter-micron) (331.83-MHz 686-class CPU)

da1: <SEAGATE ST19171N 0024> Fixed Direct Access SCSI2 device
da1: 20.0MB/s transfers (20.0MHz, offset 15), Tagged Queueing Enabled
da1: 8683MB (17783112 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 8683C)

2 of these ^^^

ahc0 <Adaptec 2940A Ultra SCSI adapter> rev 1 int a irq 11 on pci0:16:0
ahc0: aic7860 Single Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 3/255 SCBs

1 of these ^^^ attached to all narrow drives

ahc1 <Adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI adapter> rev 1 int a irq 9 on pci0:17:0
ahc1: aic7880 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs

3 of these ^^^ 2, 2 and 3 of the UW segates on each.

and a couple external 4 gig seagates for history and over.view.

The motherboard is a Tyan dual P-II with one processor and 512MB of
memory.

I found the following errors in the messages log

Unexpected busfree.  LASTPHASE == 0x40
SEQADDR == 0x10d
(da6:ahc1:0:2:0): lost device

accompanied by the following error (multiple times) in news.notice:
Sep 18 05:30:12 grendel nnrpd[5512]: 24.124.60.36 cant opendir

The partitions are laid out in the following manner.

/usr/news/spool/articles

ccd0 is mounted async and consists of the 7 9 gigabyte UW Seagate drives.
Any insight on what these errors are indicating would be greatly
appreciated. I thought I would start with the ISP group as I've not had
trouble with CAM (I hesitate to start on the SCSI list though it is disk
related)

Thanks in advance...

Regards,
Stephen
