Several times after crashes, I've had the machine reboot & complain about syntax errors in rc.conf. Upon further examination, rc.conf is completely garbled. It's easy enough to load the cdrom & grab a copy. I'm curious why only rc.conf gets scrambled. Does it go through sed or something during the boot sequence?
