Linux??? FreeBSD is not Linux. FreeBSD is based on 4.4 BSD Unix. You may have to build a new kernel to add a new nework card. If you already have /dev/ed0 you may need to add /dev/ed1. Also, you may need to configure your interface in /etc/rc.conf.
