That's because packages are in /var/db/pkg. (Of course, that
is under 2.2.6.. Maybe it differs in 3.0?)
Also, just as an aside, I only have XFree86-Contrib registered
in my packages directory. I believe I did an X11R6 installation through
/stand/sysinstall as opposed to XFree86-Contrib which was done
via pkg_add.
Maybe that's the reason?
/var/db/pkg$ ls *XF*
XFree86-Contrib-3.3.1
/var/db/pkg$ _
