I observe rather stange behaviour of my bsd box on some points(printing, some net applications etc)I would like to get some clues whether the problem is with system (i mean os as such)or just with applications.Do any mechanisms exist that allow to answer following questions: 1)Does os -kernel functions correct? 2)Is the overall sanity of os given(e.g. system calls do what they are expected to do,system libraries are compiled properly and so on) 3)And most important :Does the whole set of what is commonly specified as OS is in order or not? 4)Does the system by itself provide any mechasnisms of self-checking that could state yes the system is sane or not the system is not sane( i understand that it is rather self-contradictory because how could ill system give meaningful answers but maybe by many white magic it is somehow possible ,though) I understand that questions asked are surely very general and you would prefer something concrete but i am rather new onm this field Any additional questions are welcome Ariel To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
