I have not taken the time to check out the veracity. Al Gore's daughter used to work (interned?) for Microsoft at the time the Microsoft was definitely in violation the Sporkin decree. Nothing was done while she worked there. In addition, Microsoft was one of the very few large corporations that did not contribute funds to political candidates. The wheels of the DOJ did not start turning until Al Gore's daughter left the company and Bill Clinton discovered that they hadn't paid protection money.
