In /boot/loader.rc: set console=comconsole In /etc/ttys: (stock setup for console) console none unknown off secure And the serial port: ttyd0 "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt220 on secure Is this the current best practice? Just to nit pick, the curses support is not quite perfect as the line drawing in the boot menu is displayed as some non-alpha characters -wish I could get it perfect..
