Databases: Level: DBA level, not programmer level (3 years experience minimum in one of the top four) Informix, SQL server 2000, Versant, Oracle, SQL server 6.5, DB2 Middleware: Level: Administration Level Websphere, Floware Backup: Level: Experience using Legato, ISM Programming: Level: Proficient in at least 2: Perl, KSH, VB, Java, C OS: Level: Higher that user level, but admin experience not required. (Both Windows and UNIX) Solaris 7-8, Windows NT/2000, HPUX 11 In brief, this position would be a member of a 4 member DBA team in support of a couple hundred databases. These include a mixture of Informix, SQL Server 2000, Versant OODBMS, and some Oracle. The team supports 2 middleware products (IBM Websphere and Plexus Floware). Most of the consulting to development on best database practices, maintains configuration management of these databases, along with the normal upgrade/patching, backups, maintenance, etc. The position includes a rotating 7x24 on call, between 4 DBAs. With such a large number of servers and databases, the candidate must have excellent scripting abilities (UNIX Korn Shell, and VB Scripting). IRS background checks required. We process on the order of 200 to 300 million paper forms per year. The bulk of that work is highly complex forms processing (tax returns for example). Project duration 2-4 months approximately.
