Such as signing documents, issuing certificates or dealing with rollover and automatic issuing to routes/firewalls and iphones. Either against files, LDAP or an HSM supported by OpenSSL. Note that it (currently) cannot be build against stock binary packages; APR= -1 requires LDAP support. A check is part of the mod_ca/Makefile.
