If it is -current and NEWCARD, then the xircom stuff bogusly always claims the I/O space as its and its alone. If it is oldcard (which I think it is) (either stable or current), then you need to give it the right config entry. One is valid for sio, and the other is valid for xe, and enver the twain shall meet.
