In fact, I like to keep a log of the process so, I type: make buildworld > bldwrld.out &;tail -f bldwrld.out When it's done, I hit CTRL-C to break out of the tail, and if there are any errors I have a log file (bldwrld.out) that I can share with anyone who might be able to help.
