I seem to have run into a few problems with my new network card. Basically the system can only boot or use the 3Com 589D when I turn off "PNP Operating system" in my BIOS. Isn't isn't really a problem, but when I do that, my soundcard (maestro3) won't work (and that's not good :) Here's what the kernel says: /kernel: uhci irq 9 at device 7.2 on pci0 /kernel: could not map ports /kernel: device_probe_and_attach: uhci0 attach returned 6 /kernel: pcm0: port 0x1400-0x14ff mem 0xfb000000-xfb001fff at device 13.0 on pci0 /kernel: unable to allocate interrupt /kernel: device_probe_and_attach: pcm0 attach returned 6 looks like a conflict.., # dmesg | grep "irq 9" pcic-pci0: irq 9 at device 10.0 on pci0 pcic-pci1: irq 9 at device 10.1 on pci0 uhci0: >VIA 83C572> USB controller> irq 9 at device 7.2 on pci0 # kldstat says, the modules, "snd_maestro3.ko" and "snd_pcm.ko" are loaded. # cat /dev/sndstat says, "device not configured". Wasn't expecting it to work ;) Now the problem is, what do I do next? How do I fix this problem? I know the hardware works, however it doesn't work at the same time. The soundcard will work when I use PNP BIOS turned "on", but as soon as I insert the 3c589D, the system freezes. A complete lock-up. When the situation is reversed it spits out the problems above. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Al P.S.: another problem is, when I enter ep0's (my pccard nic) it won't assign them at all. ifconfig -a just lists ep0 and nothing like ep0's IP or netmask, etc. Thanks in advance. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
