X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list Reply-To: Communications Machine List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 27 Oct 2004 12:37:49 -0000 I have a Compaq R3140CA , (AMD Athlon 64 3000+)... I've been following the threads loosely, (am subscribed to the list), and recall there was a fix for it. I was pateiently waiting for the fix (keyboard probe issue with ACPI if I recall correctly?), to be contributed to the latest snapshot release. Is this fix not incorporated into 5.3-RC2 ? I've had little to no success being able to figure out any other way to install/configure FreeBSD on this thing... the only way I know how to is to either start from a working build and do a make-world, or to boot from an install cd and go... but since I cannot find/get any installation disks to boot, I'm not sure where to go from here - any suggestions? I am currently running Gentoo linux on here, and am fairly happy with the stability, but kind of dissappointed with the performance. I had run OpenBSD for a while, but without the nVidia driver for linux, these displays don't work in X at all, (or at least they don't exit cleanly and lock the system up in the process). The final goal would be to have FreeBSD running on here, but I'm kind of at a loss as to what to try/do next? Any help, guidance, 'rtfm -> pointers/urls' would be greatly appreciated, thanx. (P.S. - just reply to the list, I am subscribed, thanx)
