I've more or less given up on compaq-cc for the time being, because system header changes kept breaking the port all the time. This may be less of a problem on -STABLE. I have previously built the Ogg Vorbis collection (libao, libogg, libvorbis, vorbis-tools) with ccc, and this gave substantial speed gains for encoding audio tracks. I forgot the numbers, but basically my PC164-500 went from quite a bit worse than real time to quite a bit better than real time. Much of the actual gains might not be due to ccc itself but rather to the optimized math library, libcpml. -- Christian "naddy" Weisgerber naddy@mips.inka.de To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
