I have a U2 that I can boot NetBSD diskless on just fine.
I tried to feed it the FreeBSD kernel and it panic()ed due to the kernel
needing the FreeBSD loader.
Reading diskless(8) suggests that
options MFS
options BOOTP
options BOOTP_NFSROOT
options BOOTP_COMPAT
is needed but GENERIC doesn't seem to have BOOTP* options. I'm wondering if
that's even true for a U2 since I boot NetBSD diskless w.o./BOOTP, the OpenPROM
will eventually ask for bootparamd if it doesn't see any BOOTP response.
Does anyone have a working diskless FreeBSD/sparc64?
Can anyone supply me with the parts or instructions?
Thanks,
Ken
