A look at /usr/src/libexec/getty/main.c shows the folowing:
if (hostname[0] == '\0')
strcpy(hostname, "Amnesiac");
so, coherence suggests that the default should be "Amnesiac".
Othewise, you'll get different hostnames for dhcp (and the like), and
getty sessions.
