I just want to thank everyone who offered help on this thread. I've
got the machine running at about 95%. For the sake of the mail
archive, I have attached my kernel configuration and the dmesg.
But I do have two questions. The sound works, but I don't seem to have
any ability to use an equalizer, treble-bass levels, or anything
sophisticated like that. You mention your Realplayer is better on
FreeBSD than Win98. Does mean that you have this ability? How did you
get it?
Second, what kind of Xircom do you have? I have the CE2 card, and it
still does not work. pccardd picks it up just fine, but it just
doesn't work. If I tcpdump on it, I get some funky packets. If I try
too keep using it, eventually I start to get errors about filled up
buffers. Neither the BNC or UTP connectors works. No link lights on
the connectors either. This is observed on more than one machine and
more than one network.
Anyway, that's another thread when I need to get that card
working. Thanks for the help on the Thinkpad.
