I have built and installed Cyrus 1.6.22 on FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE. When I telnet, I get: hobbit# telnet localhost imap Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost.kcis.com. Escape character is '^]'. * OK gw.kcis.com Cyrus IMAP4 v1.6.22 server ready . logout * BYE LOGOUT received . OK Completed Connection closed by foreign host. This seems OK. When I run IMTEST, I get the following: hobbit# /usr/local/bin/imtest -m login -p imap localhost C: C01 CAPABILITY S: * OK gw.kcis.com Cyrus IMAP4 v1.6.22 server ready S: * CAPABILITY IMAP4 IMAP4rev1 ACL QUOTA LITERAL+ NAMESPACE UIDPLUS X-NON-HIERARCHICAL-RENAME NO_ATOMIC_RENAME UNSELECT S: C01 OK Completed Password: + go ahead L01 NO Login failed: generic failure Authenticated. Security strength factor: 0 The error (generic failure) has stumped me.
