Could you offer more details ? opi# uname -a FreeBSD opi.flirtbox.ch 4.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 4.0-CURRENT #14: Wed Jun 30 10:06:02 CEST 1999 opi@opi.flirtbox.ch:/usr/src/sys/compile/opi i386 opi# uptime 10:08AM up 1 day, 25 mins, 2 users, load averages: 0.03, 0.01, 0.00 > Are there any other error messages in the logs ? There is *nothing* in the logs, it wasn't able to write anything to the disk. However the box didn't lock up, I got a login prompt via telnet but was not able to log in. Since yesterday it has been stable and I didn't change anything. As a side note: This box runs qmail as an mail realy. Sometimes it beats the disk pretty hard. > What NCR chip is on that SCSI card ? from dmesg: CPU: Pentium/P54C (132.63-MHz 586-class CPU) ... ncr0: irq 10 at device 10.0 on pci0 ...
