And while we are thanking people, I'd like to thank David O'Brien.
After re-reading my original commit message, I'm not sure I gave him
enough credit.  He spent quite a lot of time cleaning this code up &
making it presentable enough to commit.  Without his efforts, it
probably wouldn't have been committed.  Thanks again David!
