If it works, send it to me and I'll check it in in a variety of places. The deal here is that QIC drives are much in the minority, so I changed the driver to try and force variable mode as the default. Unfortunately a number of drives accept the mode select to do this when they really *can't* do variable mode. Apparently the 51000HT is another one.
