            Bug ID: 279777
           Summary: net/openmpi, net/mpich: Suggestion to drop slurm-wlm
                    dependency
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Some People
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: jwb@freebsd.org
                CC: laurent.chardon@gmail.com

             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(laurent.chardon@gmail.com)

SLURM now requires cgroups for basic functionality. As a result,
sysutils/slurm-wlm is currently broken and unlikely to be fixed, unless som=
eone
is up for a long-term uphill battle. The port builds and installs, but the
daemons don't work without the cgroups plugin.

I'd suggest making it a default-off option for openmpi and mpich.
