i was noticed this behavior using make on freebsd and netbsd :
ohmer@moe$ cat Makefile
all:
pwd
ohmer@moe$ make
pwd
/usr/home/ohmer
ohmer@moe$ mkdir obj
ohmer@moe$ make
pwd
/usr/home/ohmer/obj
it seems a hard coded make behavior so it rather looks like a feature
than a bug. why is that ?
