There is no FreeBSD verison for RS/6000. There is only a Sparc port in
work. I haven't looked to deep into NetBSD, but I don't think there's
a port for RS/6000. However, there is LinuxPPC for PowerPC based machines,
which includes for example Apple Macintosh and also IBM RS/6000. The web
pages (http://www.linuxppc.org/) say, it runs only on PowerPC CPU based
machines with PCI bus, there's no support for Microchannel architecture.

I've read today in comp.unix.aix rumours about people running Linux on
PowerPC based MCA machines, but I haven't seen such a system running
yet - at all, there doesn't seem to exist a distribution.

Martin
