	Thanks to kris for pointing this out.

	As I do not use X at all, I'm not able to reproduce this, so I'm going
	to need someone's help who *does* use X.  I'll be contacting the
	nethack authors tomorrow to see if they can shed some light on it;
	my hands are somewhat tied.
