When the video has glitches, like when the broadcast turns over from nation-wide signal to local colorbars from the cable company, bt often gives SCERR but restart attempt fails. Zeroing cap_ctl and _then_ writing the cached 'mirror' has cured this problem for me, could be a timing related thing too. Dunno.
