Also, you want the following as suggested by oberman previously: pccardd_flags="-z" That keeps the machine from trying to do anything until the pccards are attached/probed/available. That should solve your problems with bits failing. Alternately you would call a script from pccard.conf by adding an extra 'insert <script>' directive that calls dhcp client program.
