After the install uname says: FreeBSD mensa.dnaent.com 2.1.6-RELEASE FreeBSD 2.1.6-RELEASE #0: Sun Nov 24 23:31:18 1996 jkh@whisker.cdrom.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC i386 The reports I've seen from people who said their uname reports 2.1.6.1 have also mentioned they sup'd the sources.
