I have been doing the very thing you are asking.  I has been my
experience that you have to use the Linux version of Netscape in-order to
use Linux pluggins.  If you try them with the native FreeBSD ver of
Netscape it whines about an unknown ELF binary or some such thing.

I believe that you can install all pieces as if you were running it on
Linux.  I did have a bit of a fight with the Rvplayer though.
