According to The Red Book (UNIX System Administration Handbook, 2nd Ed.)
(1995):

"O'Reilly & Associates sells the 4.4BSD manual set and the raw
(unbootable) 4.4BSD-Lite code (on CD-ROM) for a reasonable fee.

I suppose that's out of print...but you can get the source at:

ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/bsd-sources

There is also (and this one *IS* in print) "The Design and Implementation
of the 4.4BSD Operating System" (I think that's right) which is a red
hardbound book.
