However, I'm not totally sure it's the "right" answer -- if not, perhaps one of the developers can send a better answer? (One needs to be subscribed to the list to post.) I think crossover is useful/important to many users, so a correct and useful answer to the codeweavers people is highly desirable. If you're targeting FreeBSD, please target 4.7 for now. 5.0 is a really major upgrade, and will take at least a few months to stabilize; most people will be running 4.x for the near future. I'm not totally sure if a 4.x binary will work on 5.x (I'm not a developer) but if 4.x binaries don't work on 5.x, I think the developers will try to get them working; but a 5.x binary will not work on a 4.x machine at all and will be useless for most FreeBSD users for at least the next few months.
