Thomas, I cannot comment on the exact model of AVM TA you have but I had a similar experience with a (older?) serial-only Fritz TA, with is sold in the UK rebadged by British Telecom. I contacted AVM support and they told me that (a) the TA does not use AT commands and (b) the specs for talking to it down a serial line are not available.
