while we are talking on comparing different cpu classes what about sun spark stations or SG boxes ???? I may have a cpu that can do 20mips, but was not designed to run an os (like embedded micro controllers they run one program for ever) Regards, Kat. PS how did apple compare the adobe Photoshop ?? as I recall the only thing common was the screen layout, other than that the code was completely different. has anyone written a "C" program that is then cross compiled on multiple platforms ????? I know this is not a real "office program" test, but atleast would compare the functions of the cups ----- Original Message ----- From: Ted Mittelstaedt <tedm@toybox.placo.com> To: Bzdik BSD <bzdik@yahoo.com>; Charles Burns <burnscharlesn@hotmail.com>; <vince@oahu.WURLDLINK.NET>; <lplist@closedsrc.org> Cc: <jgowdy@home.com>; <kris@obsecurity.org>; <mwlist@lanfear.com>; <freebsd@sysmach.com>; <questions@FreeBSD.ORG> Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2001 3:11 PM Subject: RE: the AMD factor in FreeBSD > It's not a real CPU unless it has fittings for the ethelyne > glycol coolant tubes. :-) > > Ted Mittelstaedt tedm@toybox.placo.com > Author of: The FreeBSD Corporate Networker's Guide > Book website: http://www.freebsd-corp-net-guide.com > > > >-----Original Message----- > >From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > >[mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Bzdik BSD > > > > > >G4 stil runs without heatsink - doesn't qualify as a real CPU to me. > >end :)) > > > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
