freebsd 4.x series does not support 32bit cardbus.  you could step out 
to a brave new world and try -current, slated for freebsd 5.0 release 
sometime around september.  32bit cardbus will be fully supported there, 
not sure what the status is right now.  or buy a new nic card, sorry.
