Do you want to try again? [YES] [NO] Yes shows up the last message repetitive, No reverts to "Fixit" menu. I've tried out this procedure on different HP Blade types and have used an external USB CD/DVD drive and HP iLO2 with integrated remote CD/DVD drive (image) support for testing. Booting up an installation medium of FreeBSD 7.3 this all work fine without this issue; so I guess this problem has been introduced with the new FreeBSD 8.x kernel. I discovered the following work-around fixing this issue: FreeBSD/amd64 8.0-RELEASE - sysinstall Main Menu -> Options -> run: Re-Scan Devices <*> Afterwards "Fixit" and installation from CD/DVD media seems to work without any problems, here. -Florian
