Are you sure it locked, and didn't just cut over to the comconsole?
The FORCE_COMCONSOLE implies -h on the boot: prompt, initiating the
console.  Otherwise it boots normally.

Did you test the comconsole with a computer or dumb terminal before
hooking it up to the Portmaster?

Take a look at /etc/serial and try setting clocal there.  I had a VT320
hooked up to a comconsole with no change in settings except enabling the
getty on d0.

Looks OK to me.

OK.  Is the Portmaster set to the right speed?

Did you try hitting <enter> a few times after connecting?
