Of course you should - if you are running it somewhat out off the ordinary, you should check that it will run with your peculiar setup. I think a bespoke hardware modification fits the bill perfectly for out of the ordinary, and so would require extra verification. I suppose if you where to run it at high temperatues, or a very humid environment, and the os throw up some errors, that would be the OS fault as well, since your hardware is above reproach?
