Yes. As I mentioned to a previous query about this earlier this week, I ported IONA's OrbixWeb 3.0 to FreeBSD by hacking on their scripts. It's not complete (IDL doesn't work), but it does work. I can get away with not having IDL since I use my Solaris box to generate the IDL files, and then do all my development on FreeBSD. However, there are lots of free IDL/CORBA implementation out there, including a couple in ports. I think one of them even does Java. Also note that JDK1.2 ships with an IDL compiler, so you might be able to take the stuff out of there and use in the FreeBSD JDK. > If this info exists in a FAQ somewhere please point me to it, I am new to > the list.
