Is the problem that their DNS server isn't correctly responding to a query with an unknown QTYPE? The main reason I want to have Mozilla work around this is that for many people, they are not interested in policing DNS servers. They just want Mozilla to work. Yes, those DNS servers are broken and should be fixed, but Mozilla should work nicely in either case.
