This worked but a little bit of a hassle.
With X running-plugged in a working PS/2 scroll mouse-
hit the CTL-ALT-BKSP to restart X.
The mouse worked fine. Unplugged working PS/2 scroll
mouse-plugged in PS/2 optic mouse-hit the CTL-ALT-BKSP
and now optic mouse works fine.
