Hi,
I just gave FreeBSD 5.0RC1 a spin on my new notebook, a Samsung P10 XTC
(very similar to the MicronPC Transport T1000 sold in the US) and got
bitten by a bug in the fxp driver which landed my in ddb land when
trying to download and install ports:
> Fatal trap 18: integer divide fault while in kernel mode
> instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc024db35
> stack pointer = 0x10:0xd67dacc0
> frame pointer = 0x10:0xd67dace0
> code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b
> = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1
> processor eflags = interrupt enabled, IOPL = 0
> current process = 23 (irq11: cbb0 fxp0++)
Doing a trace in ddb yield the following:
> db> trace
> cbb_intr(c1518a00,0,c04ca046,216,c406d760) at cbb_intr+0x45
> ithread_loop(c4051d00,d67dad48,c04c9ebb,35a,0) at ithread_loop+0x182
> fork_exit(c02da650,c4051d00,d67dad48) at fork_exit+0xa5
> fork_trampoline() at fork_trampoline+0x1a
> --- trap 0x1, eip = 0, esp = 0xd67dad7c, ebp = 0 ---
> db> fxp0: device timeout
I'm also kind of confused why it's faulting in cbb_intr. Looking at the
bus topology the NIC should be hanging off the PCI bridge and not off
the CardBus bridge <shrug>.
Before writing this mail, I had a look at the CVS repository but was not
able to find any new checkins for the fxp driver and the CardBus stuff
(after the RC1 release). FreeBSD-4.7 seems to run fine on the machine,
though I only did rather superficial testing.
Can anyone help me with this one? I've also had a high success rate
reproducing this failure by ping -f'ing my machine.
Attached you find the dmesg as well as output from pciconf -l and
devinfo -r. The kernel is the default one included on the 5.0-RC1 i386
ISOs.
Cheers,
Ralf
