Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG What's the status of various math packages under FreeBSD? I am looking to get a general purpose math package. Free would be fine if the functionality is close to what is commercially available, but I am expecting to have to buy Maple or Mathematica or Matlab. I don't want anything with obnoxious license managers or any of that BS. I plan to buy the software, I expect to be trusted and not have to deal with any of these hassles. What's most functional under FreeBSD? I would like sound to work, if possible. I am actually running 3.2-stable from around october 99 but would upgrade if necessary. thanks, Craig.
