Hi I'm looking at getting an IBM ThinkPad R50p to run FreeBSD 4.10 on, or 5.2.1 / 5.3 if recommended. My current Inspiron 8000 has done its dash. Has anyone on this list successfully run FreeBSD on one of these models? I've been following this list in digest mode for a little while and have learnt not to get a centrino based wireless adapter. The IBM site says it has an IBM wireless adapter. >From what I can tell, the laptop is well supported under Debian Linux, but I've not seen anyone confirm the laptop under FreeBSD. http://www.travellingkiwi.com/laptop/r50p%20Linux.html#Hardware_Overview http://mcmillan.net.nz/linux/Linux_on_R50p.html It is Pentium M 1.7Ghz, with ATI Mobility FireGL T2 (Support in XF86 4.4 Source) Intel Pro 1000 Ethernet IBM 11a/b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Apparently atheros chipset. Comments? Matthew
