But I would like it get samba to run as a pdc but not using ldap, I would be most grateful if I could see a working smb.conf file running as a pdc on a freebsd machine that would perhaps steer me in the correct direction. The examples that come with samba 3 documentation have not been ported to freebsd and my visits to google have yielded lots of interesting info but nothing that actually helps me. The crux of the problem is when add machines get them to 'register' as part of the domain etc In other words I have the server up and running when I try to register my workstation on the pdc as you would on a nt4 server even if I create the machine account manually on the server I am unable to register the workstation on the server. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer Kind Regards Godfrey ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Compu-Doc On-Line - http://www.compudoc.co.za Striving To Serve You Better ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Godfrey J.
