Actually, if this was the discussion that involved J'org and I, the
result was that we agreed it should be started out of /etc/ttys, which
is why I committed the change to the default /etc/ttys in FreeBSD.

Starting out of rc.d is *NO* safer than starting out of /etc/ttys, and
has the chance of causing problems.  By putting it in /etc/ttys, you can
immediately see where conflicts would arise since everything else is
started out of /etc/ttys.
