If it's a Pentium-Pro you should be using:

options		"I686"

As to the reboots - Hmmm... I doubt they'd be caused by the CPU selection
type... Just what are you doing to "use all the resources" of your machine?

Maybe your pushing too hard? - Try posting your kernel config, or email it to
me...

I also have a PentiumPro 200, and though I've tweaked somethings (like putting
/tmp on it's own Async mounted drive) - I very rarely fiddle with the kernel -
because it works... ;-)
